Venom GT and the F1 LM, two of five cars in Need for Speed: Most Wanted's Ultimate Speed Pack

The pitch of paying 800MSP or $9.99 for five cars to add to Need for Speed: Most Wanted's already reasonable garage may not be attractive at first. Then you hear the car names.

"We’re breaking out the big guns for The Ultimate Speed Pack and unleashing McLaren’s $4 million F1 LM, Lambo’s minimalist artwork autel manual, the Aventador J, the track-focused Pagani Zonda R, Bugatti’s reigning world speed champion, the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and Hennessey’s savage 275 mile-an-hour ragtop beast, the Venom GT."

Cue the uncontrollable drooling and low tone Homer Simpson groan. Those are some sexy cars, and I don't even know anything about cars. All that really matters is someone made a car and was so enthralled with it technically that they threw a name on the table like Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse and decided that was good enough MaxiVideo MV101 with 8.5mm model. I imaging it went something along the lines of, "We could name this anything we want and they'll still buy it because it goes really, really fast."

Beyond the great cars, this Ultimate Speed Back is just a great reason to jump back into one of this years best games. Whether the DLC actually breaks game balance and these cars deliver a faster experience than what's already available is doubtful, but you can bet if you hopped into a multiplayer match with a Venom GT people would notice.

Criterion's Need for Speed: Most Wanted is currently available on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (and is pretty dang affordable with all the holiday sales) specialty products, and the Ultimate Speed Pack DLC will release across all platforms on December 18 for $9.99, 800MSP.
